The Beauty Picks: 2013

Now 2013 is well over, I wanted to share my winning products for the past year. These products are not necessarily new products, they are just new to me. I have a top 3 for skincare, makeup, hair and nails. Let's see who the winners are, shall we?

Skincare winners
Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Balm (£9.50) - This has saved my lips ever since I bought it a couple of months ago (and I will repurchase it over and over).
Coconut oil - Hands down my favorite discovery of the year. I have been using it religiously since July and I can tell you that I will never need to search for a makeup remover/cleanser ever again.
Clarins Exfoliating Toner (£25.00) - I use this twice a week and it made my face so bright looking. It removes all the dead skin and prepares your skin for whatever skincare you put on next.
Makeup winners
NARS Laguna Bronzer (£26.00) - I bought this in Paris with my Boyfriend back in February. It is so worth the hype. And it doesn't make me look orange, even though I am really (really) fair.
Real Techniques Buffing Brush - Staple brush. This blends every foundation naturally and flawlessly. No need to say anything else, other than: buy the Core Collection set, it is worth it.
Maybelline Master Precise Pen Eyeliner - This is the first year I've been wearing eye liner. Since I don't have time to fuss about in the morning, this has been an every day product.
Hair winners
- John Frieda Go Blonder Shampoo (£5.99) - I have ash blonde hair, but I do like it to be just a tad more blonde. This shampoo gives me the same result as a month under the sun. I like.
- KMS California HairPlay Dry Wax (£10.87) - If you like wax, but not the liquiddy texture, you need to try this. It's like the baby of wax and hair spray. Flexibility and hold, win win.
- L'Oréal TXT Volume Spray (£3.79) - When I don't want to use the KMS, I use this. And I like it way better than salt spray. A dupe for the Oribe one, perhaps?

Nail winners
- Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Polish in Rouge Poppy (£5.99) - I love me some tomato-red nails. This formula gives a nice sheen and stays put for at least a week. And the brush is chubby and awesome!
- Essie Mademoiselle (£7.99) - My go to, no fuss polish. One coat provides a natural nail, two coats gives a more opaque classy look. I think it's my most worn polish of 2013.
- Essie After School Boy Blazer (£7.99) - The hype polish of this Fall. And the perfect dark color for me, as black can make my hand look see-through - thanks a lot fair skin.

So that's my beauty round up of 2013. Bring it on, 2014!

p.s.: My blogging schedule will go through some changes in 2014. As many people rightfully mentioned, the whole blogging world is kind of silent on the weekends. So from next week onwards, I'll be posting on Monday. (Next post: Monday, January 13). Thank you all for reading, it means the world to me.
